This MOSFET module based on IRF540 MOSFET makes it possible to control 4 different high-power devices.

The LEDs on the module indicate which MOSFET is switched on. This board is particularly useful for controlling a large LED strip or a motor (in one direction) by using, for example, PWM.

Specifications:

  • Input voltage: 5 - 20V *
  • Maximum current: ~10A (with cooling block up to 33A peak possible)
  • Can be controlled with 3.3V and 5V signals (5V is advised)
  • Has four holes of 3mm for mounting
  • Signal connectors (black ones): Molex SL 70553-0002 (female DuPont jumper wires fit)
  • Dimensions: 66 x 66mm

* Note: For voltages of 5-10V, the resistance in the MOSFET will be higher, which results in a lower maximum current and the heat dissipation will increase. Additional cooling may be required.

Pin descriptions black connectors (right side of PCB):

  • -: GND/ground/min from Arduino
  • +: VCC from Arduino (does not need to be connected)
  • S: Signal pin from the Arduino

Pin descriptions screw terminal blocks (left side of PCB):

  • Power +: VPP Input Voltage MOSFET (5 - 20V)
  • Power -: GND/ground/min of input voltage
  • +: Positive voltage for component to be switched
  • -: Negative voltage for component to be switched
