This GR10-30 gesture sensor from DFRobot can recognise 12 different hand gestures with a range up to 30cm. Parameters for gesture detection can easilly be customised for accurate results. The module contains a separate microcontroller that reads out the sensor. This microcontroller can then be read out via I2C or UART (selectable via a switch).
