This stepper motor driver is intended for motors with a larger power and current, suitable for NEMA17 and NEMA23, among others.

This stepper motor driver module can be used separately or in combination with a CNC shield or 3D printer. Compared to many other stepper motor drivers, this one has a number of special features, including:

  • StealthChop2™ technology for quieter stepper motors
  • SpreadCycle™ technology for smoother movement
  • CoolStep™ technology for energy savings of up to 75% compared to previous generations
  • StallGuard™ technology for resistance detection and sensorless homing
  • DCStep™ load dependent speed control technology

Note: The motor direction is reversed compared to the A4988 and DRV8825 based drivers. You can make changes to the software or mirror the motor pins (hardware).

Note: The drivers protrude a bit, which makes it hard on some motherboards to fit another driver next to it.

Note: The manufacturer FYSETC indicates on the information page (see link below) that the driver is suitable for up to 60V DC. This is a peak value only and it is only possible to use the motor driver for a longer time up to a maximum of 50V DC. Therefore we recommend to supply a maximum of 50V DC on the VM pin.
