A development board based on an ESP32-S3 microcontroller, specifically designed to control a digital LED strip or matrix. The board is fully equipped to support many chip types (including WS2811, WS2812, WS2813, WS2815, APA102, NS107S, etc.). Because of the built-in buck-boost converter the board supports both 5V and 12V LED strips. In addition, a very fast level converter ensures that a 5V signal voltage is always supplied to the LED's signal pin(s).
The built-in USB-to-serial converter makes the board easy to program, even like an Arduino. Many examples of digital LED strips can be found online, the most well-known being:
The board can also be used in Home Assistant via ESPHome. Examples for various LED chips can be found on the GitHub page below.
The power supply for the LED strip is easily connected via screw terminals, just like the LED strip itself. By doing so, there is no need for connecting an additional buffer capacitor, level converter, or resistor (everything is already built-in!). For additional connectivity, the board has two Grove connectors for connecting modules from, for example, M5Stack or Seeed Studio.
