P82B715P I2C Bus Extender - 8-pin - DIP

With two of these chips it is possible to use an I2C connection over a much longer distance. Where the maximum distance is normally limited to a few meters, with the help of these chips it is possible to send signals up to 50m (under ideal conditions). To make a longer connection, two of these chips are needed: One on the microcontroller side and the other on the I2C device side, such as a sensor. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use a twisted pair for the data wires between the two chips. It is also possible to connect multiple chips to the same bus, just like a normal I2C bus.
