TDA7498E 2x160W or 1x220W Audio Amplifier

The TDA7498E chip has long been a player on the market of Class-D amplifiers. The "E" variant of the TDA7498 chip is the most powerful version of this chip with up to 2x 160W stereo or 1x 220W mono output.
This amplifier is incredibly powerful. This requires a large battery or power supply that can provide sufficient power and voltage.
This makes this amplifier less suitable for e.g. crate radio devices.

Specifications:

• Works between 15V and 36V DC (Mean Well RSP-320-36 recommended)
• Cooling block with active ventilation for optimum cooling
• Works with impedances between 4 and 8 ohm
• Potentiometer present (for volume control, has no built-in switch)
• RCA audio input
• 3 Pins audio input (cable not included)
• Amplification adjustable in 4 steps with two dip switches. (see image for explanation)
• Thermal protection for overheating
• Protection against too high currents (short circuit)
• LED at power connector indicating the status of the amplifier (on/off)
• 2x 160W @ 36V 10A (4 Ohm)
• 1x 220W @ 36V 7A (3 Ohm)
• 1x 100W @ 24V 6A (3 Ohm)
• 2x 50W @ 22V 5A  (4 Ohm)
• 2x 25W @ 15V 4A  (4 Ohm)
• Modification(soldering required) to 1x 220W mono possible (see 3rd image for places to be soldered together, J1, J2, J3 and J4 See 4th picture for subwoofer input and output)
• Dimensions: 109mm x 79mm x 23mm

Note 1: This amplifier has no reverse polarity protection due to the high current consumption. So be careful that you connect the voltage correctly.

Note 2: This amplifier is supplied in 2x 160W stereo by default. If you want to perform a modification to 1x 220W mono, disconnect the amplifier from speakers, power supply, audio input etc. This will prevent damage.
