The TDA7498 chip has long been a player on the market of Class-D amplifiers. This standard variant of the TDA7498 chip is the version with a maximum of 2x 100W stereo output (at 6 Ohm). This amplifier is quite powerful. This requires a large battery or power supply that can provide sufficient power and voltage. This makes this amplifier less suitable for case and crate radio devices.
Specifications:
Works between 15V and 34V DC (34V 6.5A recommended)
Cooling block for optimum cooling
Works with impedances between 6 and 8 ohms (8 Ohms recommended)
Potentiometer present (for volume control only, the potentiometer has no built-in switch)
RCA audio input
3 Pins audio input (cable not included)
Amplification adjustable in 4 steps with two dip switches (see image for explanation)
Thermal protection for overheating
Reverse polarity protection with a diode
Protection against too high currents (short circuit)
LED at power connector indicating the status of the amplifier (on/off)
2x 100W @ 34V 6.5A (6 Ohm)
2x 75W @ 28V 6A (6 Ohm)
2x 80W @ 34V 5.5A (8 Ohm)
2x 50W @ 25V 4.5A (8 Ohm)
Dimensions: 90mm x 64mm x 23mm
Note: We do not recommend using this amplifier in combination with 4 Ohm speakers. The components on the amplifier are calculated on 6 and 8 Ohm speakers.
Use a stable, CE-approved power supply with the correct voltage and sufficient power. It is recommended to use a power supply with a bit more power than the amplifier to provide headroom for current spikes.
