With this mini MP3 module you can play various formats of music and have it controlled by your Arduino.
The music is on a micro-SD card that you can place in the micro-SD card holder on the shield.
The module can be controlled with separate pins and/or with UART (serial with TX/RX).

Specifications:

  • Voltage: 3.2 - 5V
  • Uses UART (TX/RX) interface
  • Can directly control a (mono) speaker up to 2W with the built-in audio amplifier (8002A chip next to the YX5200 chip)
  • Has a 24-bit DAC output for the left and right audio channel (for headphones)
  • Compatible with all Arduino's (having a UART connection)
  • Has a micro SD card holder for microSD cards up to 32GB (formatted in FAT16 or FAT32)
  • Has several pins for direct playback of songs (no serial connection needed)
  • Supported MP3, WAV and WMA audio files
  • Supported up to 100 folders where each folder can have up to 255 audio files
  • Adjustable volume in 30 steps
  • Adjustable Equalizer in 6 level's

Note: The microSD card is not accessible via the serial connection! Furthermore, the module can also be supplied with a compatible "JL" chip instead of the standard YX5200 chip.
