The Universal P1 Port Dongle is a multifunctional Wi-Fi and USB development dongle for communicating with the P1 port of a smart meter. The module is based on an ESP32-S3 microcontroller, which is easily programmable via the USB port. Unique to this module is its P1 port input and output, allowing it to not only receive but also transmit information. This feature allows the dongle to be used in various ways:
The module can be programmed via various platforms. The GitHub page below provides several examples for platforms such as Arduino and ESPHome. Easily connect the dongle using one of the following cables: P1 Port cables
Generally, the shorter the cable, the better, both for data transfer and for powering the dongle from the P1 port. If the module cannot be powered via the P1 port, you will need to supply it with a 5V power supply via the USB port as well.
